Screen can reveal a first-look image from Paula van der Oest's English-language thriller and Cannes sales title The Bay Of Silence, starring Claes Bang and Olga Kurylenko.
International Film Trust (IFT) sales head Todd Olsson represented worldwide rights and presented footage on the Croisette. IFT and UTA Independent Film Group jointly represented US rights.
Brian Cox also stars, with Assaad Bouab and Alice Krige rounding out the cast on The Bay Of Silence.
Bang plays Will, a man who scrambles to solve the mysteries of his son's questionable death and his wife Rosalind's (Kurylenko) disappearance. Ultimately Will's investigation leads him to confront a harrowing secret from the past that must be revealed.
Dutch filmmaker van der Oest (Zus & Zo) directed from Caroline Goodall's adapted screenplay, based on Lisa St Aubin de Terán's best-selling novel of the same name.
Goodall, Cheyanne Kane, Jason Newmark and Alain De Levita produced The Bay Of Silence. London-based Media Finance Capital co-financed the feature with Imperative Entertainment, Vigilants Entertainment and other equity investors. The Netherlands Film Fund also supported the project.
